Our 17th “Ball Pologne” was held on Saturday, April 22nd 2017 at Toronto’s Omni King Edward Hotel in a newly restored historical Crystal Ballroom. Polish Orphans Charity is proud to be the first to hold such an event in this remarkable place. The site returned after 38 years to become again the most prestigious and sought after locale for social functions in the City. It fits perfectly well to our traditional Ball which has already gained a reputation as being one of the most elegant charity events in Toronto.

This year the Ball was organized in conjunction with Czech Republic, Ireland, Poland, Portugal and Slovakia communities. Our honored guests included the distinguished patronage of the His Excellency Ivan Pocuch, Consul General of the Czech Republic, Ho. Andrzej Szydlo, Consul of the Republic of Poland and Mr. Michael Martincek, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Slovakia.

I am honoured to have been hosting the Ball for the last five years together with a great friend of mine Wojciech Wojnarowicz.

The Polish Orphans Charity (POC) was founded in the year 2000. Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Richarda D. Russ, Bart Pasowski P. Eng. and Arleta Holak M.A., a team of dedicated and organized volunteers works tirelessly ever since to help needy children worldwide. While our fund-raising activities originally focused on the Polish Canadian community, we have since sought to extend it to all Canadians from all diverse ethnic backgrounds to benefit orphans and underprivileged children worldwide.
